Trees of Belize is an innovative app designed to reflect the richness of Belize's biodiversity and aid in the sustainable management of its forests.
The app is closely aligned with the mission of Wild Earth Allies, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting critical ecosystems and ensuring the well-being of wildlife, habitats, and local communities. Through Trees of Belize, users can engage with Belize’s diverse tree species, fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world and supporting conservation efforts.
At Devolfs, our mission was to develop a clean, approachable logo and splash screen that aligns with the values of Trees of Belize and the broader Wild Earth Allies brand guidelines. We created three design concepts, each offering a harmonious blend of simplicity and functionality, embodying the essence of the app without being busy or flashy.
This project reflects our commitment to helping non-profits with impactful design solutions that resonate with their mission to protect wildlife, habitats, and people.
The Trees of Belize logo thoughtfully incorporates a mahogany leaf as its central icon, symbolizing the rich and diverse tree species of Belize. The mahogany, a tree native to the region, represents the country’s commitment to sustainable forest management and conservation.
To achieve the perfect balance between the icon and text, we chose a clean sans-serif typeface for the main typography, ensuring readability and modern appeal. Additionally, we integrated a handwritten font element, adding a personal touch that complements the natural form of the leaf.
